The Wraparound philosophy

Few things can isolate a family more quickly than living with high-need children. Wraparound focuses on engaging natural supports for families as well as bringing formal supports to the family in partnership. Positive outcomes from crisis are often a function of the quantity and quality of positive relationships.

Building a network for better practice

The Seventh California Wraparound Institute is an opportunity to:

  • focus on skills in engaging families
  • maximize relationships with natural and formal supports for families by working together
  • enhance practice and the agency support for sound Wraparound practice
  • build a network of support by learning with and learning from one another
  • strengthen parent partners, individually and through stronger agency support

Bringing experts together

The Seventh California Wraparound Institute brought experts on engagement and relationship building from throughout the state and the country. We especially value the role and relationship of parent partners in Wraparound. Parent partners have a unique perspective as someone who has "walked in the shoes" of a parent with a high need child and can, through shared experiences, build rapport, engage parents and remain an invaluable support.
