About the Resource Center
As part of the Center for Human Services at UC Davis Extension, the Resource Center
for Family-Focused Practice serves the multidisciplinary human services needs of
organizations with an emphasis on family-centered practice. In partnership with
the California Department of Social Services, the Resource Center provides research,
custom and standardized training, technical support, symposia and support services with
the goal of integrating practice approaches to improve outcomes for children and families.

Pathways to Mental Health Services Core Practice Model Guide
This guide provides the framework for the Core Practice Model to be implemented in every county for meeting the mental health needs of children involved with Child Welfare Services. The guide includes the values and principles, core elements of the model (i.e., teaming and trauma-informed practice), as well as practice components, standards and activities of the collaborative practice of mental health professionals and child welfare services professionals when working together. It is the companion document to the Medi-Cal Manual for Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), Intensive Home Based Services (IHBS) and Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) for Katie A. Subclass Members. Settlement Reached in Katie A. Lawsuit
As many of you are aware, there has been a lawsuit in litigation regarding mental health services for children and youth receiving foster care services. A settlement has been reached and has been approved by the Court. Below you will find copies of the settlement agreement. The California Department of Social Services is continuing to work on greater detail. Look for training in the near future to address your needs around this important issue to meet the well-being of our children and youth.

Wraparound Institute 2012
The Wraparound Institute 2012 was held in Garden Grove on June 13-15, 2012. We had more than 1,100 participants attend and the content featured a new focus on teaming strategies, including Family Group Decision Making and Team Decision Making. Learn more
