Clergy

Purpose
To address the specific issues and concerns of clergy members with regard to mandated reporting requirements.

Desired Outcomes
In this module you will learn:
  • Which members of a religious organization are mandated to report suspected child abuse and neglect
  • How to deal with issues of confidentiality, and of penitential communications
  • How you can make your religious institution mre effective in preventing child abuse and aiding its victims
  • How to handle particular situations that might arise

The Clergy module has two parts: (1) readings and quizzes that you can start at any time and are self-paced, and (2) a facilitated discussion forum that starts on the first Monday of each month. You must complete both of these parts to receive a certificate of completion. (e.g., if you register for a July course, you must finish by the end of July).

You cannot register for a module/month that is already in session (e.g., the last day you can register for July is June 30th). You can only access the discussion forum during the months for which you are registered. On the first Monday of that month, an email will be sent to you notifying you of the availability of the discussion forum.
